Pirates win 3-0 Karstens 6 shutout innings Jason Michaels 2 RBI (Solo Homerun)
The first 4 innings were impressive, I think I had him at 51 pitches through 4. The 5th and 6th he got into trouble and worked out of it. All in all, I loved seeing someone not named Maholm give a quality start.
This first outing makes me believe Huntington and staff saw something worthy in in him that made the Nady deal a good risk.
I just don't want to put too much faith in only one start.
From what I have heard, McCutchen is a better pitcher and a better prospect.
