Forgot this in the previous post...
I have followed baseball closely for over 30 years. One thing I have noticed at every trade deadline, the deals that happen are the ones you don't hear rumors on, much like the Atlanta and Anaheim deal yesterday.
I have found some rumors are started by the teams in an attempt to gain interest in their players or to get discussions going with other teams. This is not always the case, but a few GM's have become very skilled at this method of dialogue.
Just because someone posts a rumor with legitimate sources, but the deal does not happen, doesn't make the rumor any less true than when it was published.
