Today, the Pirates acquired outfielder Jason Michaels and cash from the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later. Nyjer Morgan was demoted to AAA Indianapolis to make room on the 25 man roster.
BTW Take:
Wow. Michaels was a fan favorite in Cleveland, his release seemed to be a knee jerk reaction by Cleveland in an attempt to jump start their offense. Michaels is a corner outfielder, who will be a helpful bat from the bench. I would not classify him as a defensive replacement, but he is a good utility or 4th outfielder. He he, 4th outfielder. Isn't that the tag Nate had through his entile MLB career?
On a side note:
This may be my last post for a few days, due to family issues. While I am out, check out the forum and get some discussions going. I might be able to check in there occasionally and drop some smart a$$ comments. Check back regularly over the next few days, if I post it will be at odd times just to keep my sanity.
