Roster Notes:

• The Pittsburgh Pirates today selected the contract of lefthanded pitcher Sean Burnett from Triple-A Indianapolis.
• Righthanded pitcher Evan Meek has been designated for assignment to make room for Burnett on the 25-man active roster.
• Burnett went 1-1 with three saves and a 1.04 ERA (17.1ip/2er) in 12 relief appearances this season for Indianapolis.
• The 25-year-old Burnett hasn’t appeared in a big league game since his start on August 21, 2004 at St. Louis.
• He will wear uniform #61.
• Pittsburgh now has 37 players on its 40-man roster.

Notes:

• Third baseman Jose Bautista has gone deep three times in his last two games, including his second career two home run game Friday night.
• Overall in his last six games Bautista is 10-for-24 (.417) with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored.
• Pittsburgh’s outfielders enter today’s action ranked first in the majors in home runs (17), slugging percentage (.525) and on-base percentage (.399).
• For the season they have combined to post a major league best .924 OPS (on-base percentage plus slugging percentage).

• Infielder Jack Wilson (strained left calf; eligible for reinstatement on 4/19) on 15-day disabled list.
