Pirates Agree to Terms with Nady, Gonzo

The Post-Gazette and Pirates.com are reporting the Pirates have agreed to one year contracts with Nady and Gonzalez.

Gonzo has received a nice $2M raise, my boss needs to take notes. He has gone from a 2006 salary of $347,000 to $2.35 million in 2007.

Nady's terms have not been released.

Freddy Sanchez, Jose Castillo, Jody Gerut, Shawn Chacon and John Grabow are the remaining arbitration eligible players. Both the Pirates and the players exchanged salary figure today at noon for the arbitration process.

Negotiations between the Pirates and the arbitration players will continue through the hearing dates. when they are announced. Hearings take place between Feb. 1st and Feb. 20th.

I expect all salaries will be determined before their hearings take place. DL has been fairly good at avoiding the arbitration process.
