Reading the first two paragraphs of the Post Gazette article Torres joins Pirates teammates' pleas for power bat from left side has convinced me there needs to be more frequent drug tests in the Majors, specifically in the Pirate locker room.
Torres claims, with a straight face, the Pirates have "all the pieces that we need. If they add the piece that we're longing for ... I think this is going to be a tremendous ballclub." He said this in reference to Lefty McThump.
I am sure Congress is currently subpoenaing Torres' test record.
