A new round table is available at Pittsburgh Lumber Co.
Question #1:
Earlier this off-season, Dave Littlefield said: “Right now, we’re very cautious about duplicating the positions and the players that we have in those positions.” Do you agree with the practice of trying Neil Walker, Ryan Doumit and Brad Eldred at other positions because the Pirates already have Ronny Paulino and Adam LaRoche entrenched as starters? How would abandoning their natural positions affect their value?
Question #2:
If any of the Pirates’ minor-league starters prove that they’re worthy of pitching major-league innings, do you trade from the surplus? Does the number of effective minor leaguers change your answer? What about the bevy of talented relievers? Is depth at pitcher different than depth at a position?
