Midnight Links - Feb 19th

Stat Geek analyzes the double play tandem of Castillo and Wilson as a "Imperfect combination" while Dejan reports Wilson is eager to meet with Castillo.

Stat Geek places the poor DP combination last season squarely on the shoulders of Castillo. It is a nice accompaniment to the Notebook where JW attempts to mend fences. Way to throw that kerosene on the fire SG!

In the notes from the Notebook:
* Bays been running for two weeks, good news since he had arthroscopic surgery on the knee in November
* Armas Jr reported to camp
* Walker shouts, "What's so hard about that?" while fielding grounders at third
*Torres messes with McLeary then pelts the bullpen catcher with a mid-season assortment of pitches
*Colborn screws with the Japanese media

Dejan also does an article on Freddy's head size, no not steroid related. It is a good read, and easy to see Freddy is still down to earth.

Rob Biertempfel does a nice piece in the Tribune Review on Dave Davidson. I am glad to see the Trib stepped up today with some original content. I really wasn't looking forward to checking their site after recent poor showings. Thank you Rob.

In their other articles they cover Walker from an AP source, Around the Cage has some quick hitting notes and some other quick notes featuring Armas arriving at camp.

One of the quick notes was "Roberto Clemente and Bill Mazeroski were named to the ballot for the All-Time Rawlings Gold Glove list, which will be determined by fan voting. Mazeroski will be in Pirates camp later this spring to work with the infielders."

Make sure you vote for these two Pirate Legends when voting is available at www.RawlingsGoldGlove.com, the link is currently down. ESPN also has an article on the voting.

BTW Take:
Now that we are getting a steady diet of news, I can't wait for games to start. After a few days of the feel good Sunday special articles, the reads get boring. I want some stats to sift through! Let's Play Ball!
